Natural gas surged above $9 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) Wednesday, hitting the highest level in more than a decade as dwindling inventories push prices higher.
U.S. prices surged more than 6% at one point to hit a high of $9.399 per MMBtu, the highest since 2008.
Russia halted gas exports to neighboring Finland on Saturday, a highly symbolic move that came just days after the Nordic country announced it wanted to join NATO and marked a likely end to Finland's nearly 50 years of importing natural gas from Russia.

The Obstacle Is The Way
Ryan Holiday shows us how some of the most successful people in history—from John D. Rockefeller to Amelia Earhart to Ulysses S. Grant to Steve Jobs—have applied stoicism to overcome difficult or even impossible situations. Their embrace of these principles ultimately mattered more than their natural intelligence, talents, or luck.

Years ago, I read the book “The Founder’s Mentality” and a concept stuck in my head that has always resonated with our team. In the book, it defines companies with a high Founder’s Mentality as those with three major traits and sub-traits under those. The traits are a Sense of Insurgency, a frontline obsession, and an owner’s mindset. The insurgency part always stuck with me.
The Insurgency has three sub-traits: A bold mission, spikyness, and limitless horizons. But more than that, it’s the idea that we are not the bureaucracy; we are the man coming up. We are the contender, not the champion. Insurgent companies who have the founder’s mentality can keep from hitting the growth paradox: Growth creates complexity, and complexity kills growth. When growth comes, it’s easy to no longer view your company as an insurgency any longer, you now own the belt; there’s only one way to go from the top.
The quote above about “staying good” is a condensed Nick Saban quote. He understands the complexity of having a really good program and sustaining that success over time. Alabama football is anything but an insurgent program; they are certainly the occupiers. But to hear Saban tell it, they are just the little guys trying to compete to get to the next level and do anything they can to get to another championship game, he speaks the language of an Insurgent general.
That’s why I love it when Arthur will occasionally ask, “when is our REAL launch happening?” He knows and speaks the language that we are just getting started!
